About Russ Markowski

With a keen eye for typography, Russ started his graphic career demonstrating equipment for a company called Compugraphic. With the advent of the Macintosh, Russ could see a whole different change in the way graphics were laid out. He joined Quark in their support staff and he quickly realized how designers and printers laid out their pages.

Russ moved into the prepress area and he honed his skills on layout and how electronic files needed to be prepared. He also learned color correction, trapping, color separations and page imposition.

After years in the printing field, he decided to move to the creative side and joined Barnhart, CMI as a production artist. There, he worked with designers, art directors and account executives in preparing artwork for shipment to the printer. After working at this agency he got his chance to do graphic design while working at The Wildlife Experience. In this portfolio review, you will see some of the graphic design projects that were on display at the museum.
